Opening With No Compromises: The Gear Partnership We Anchor On

Opening a dive shop is a statement. Every decision you make: where you're located, how you teach, what gear sits on your shelves. It tells your community exactly what you stand for.

We care deeply about the divers who trust us. That's not a marketing line. It's the reason we spent serious time deciding what we'd carry before we ever opened our doors. When it comes to gear, we don't compromise. Not on day one, not ever.

That commitment starts with our partnership with Huish Outdoors.

Why Huish Outdoors

Huish Outdoors is the parent company behind some of the most respected names in diving, a portfolio of iconic brands that, combined, carry over 200 years of history and product innovation. Their philosophy mirrors ours: bring together the best specialists in each category, and don't dilute any of them.

Every brand under the Huish umbrella earned its reputation on its own merits. Together, they cover the full spectrum of diving, from a new diver gearing up for open water to an experienced diver pushing into technical environments. One partnership. No weak links.

We'll carry other brands at BluWave as the shop grows. There's no single manufacturer that makes the best version of everything, and we'd never claim otherwise. But Huish is our anchor partnership because their standard of quality matches ours.

Three Brands We're Proud to Open With

Atomic Aquatics: The Standard Everything Else Gets Measured Against

Founded in 1995 by Dean Garraffa and Doug Toth, Atomic Aquatics was built around one obsession: make the finest scuba equipment on the planet. They started with regulators and refused to compromise on a single material or mechanism. Thirty years later, Atomic is widely considered the definitive leader in every product category they enter.

Titanium components where others use steel. Machining tolerances that belong in aerospace. A breathing feel that experienced divers consistently describe as the benchmark. If you want the best, and you know the difference, Atomic is it.

Oceanic: Fifty Years of Trust Underwater

Bob Hollis founded Oceanic in 1972 with a straightforward belief: serious recreational divers deserve serious gear, not just the pros. More than fifty years later, that's still the core of the brand.

Oceanic gear has been in the water on every kind of dive: Caribbean reefs, Pacific kelp forests, Florida's coastal wrecks. It's the brand countless divers learned on and deliberately chose to stay with. Reliable, well-engineered, and refined over decades of real-world use.

When we recommend Oceanic, we're recommending a brand with a track record longer than most dive shops have existed. That kind of history doesn't happen by accident.

BARE: Thermal Protection That Performs in Florida

Florida divers underestimate thermal protection more than any other piece of kit. The ocean here is warm, but "warm" is relative. Freshwater springs run a consistent 68°F year-round. Night dives are a different animal. And on a long dive, you feel the cold before you realize it's happening.

BARE builds technical wetsuits and protective gear for divers who know the difference between a suit that fits and one that actually performs. Technical materials, engineered fit systems, serious protection without unnecessary bulk. It's why Florida divers who get serious about their gear keep coming back.

If you've ever cut a dive short because you got cold, a BARE wetsuit changes that.

We're a Full-Service Shop. And We Mean It.

Selling great gear is only part of the commitment. At BluWave, we stand behind everything we carry, not just at the point of sale, but for the life of the equipment.

Warranty coverage. Every product we sell comes backed by manufacturer warranty, and we handle the process. You don't navigate that alone.

Maintenance and servicing. Regulators need annual servicing. BCDs need inspections. We do that work in-house, on gear we know, for divers we know. Bring it in and we'll make sure it's ready for your next dive.

Repairs. Things break. Zippers fail, straps wear, o-rings go. We repair the gear we sell because we care about keeping you in the water, not sending you shopping again.

This is what it means to us to be a full-service dive shop. The relationship doesn't end when you walk out the door.

The Standard We're Setting

Opening BluWave means making a promise to every diver who walks through our door: we've done the work so you don't have to guess. When you ask us what regulator to train on, what wetsuit fits South Florida conditions, or whether a piece of gear is worth the investment. We're not selling you something. We're giving you the honest answer, backed by the same gear we dive ourselves.

That's not a standard we'll lower as we grow. It's the one we're starting with.

We'll see you in the water.
