Course Details

The PADI Open Water is a beginner-level PADI certification course taught by a PADI IDC Staff Instructor at BluWave Divers in Orlando, FL. The course runs 3 days and combines classroom theory, confined water skills, and open water dives. Class size is limited to 6 students.

How long does a PADI certification take?
Discover Scuba is a single day. Open Water Diver typically takes 3-4 days. Advanced Open Water can be completed in 2-3 days.
What is the minimum age?
PADI Open Water requires a minimum age of 10 (Junior Open Water). Full certification is available at 15+.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
Basic water comfort: swim 200m (or 300m with mask/snorkel/fins) and float for 10 minutes.
