Course Details
The PADI Refresher is a beginner-level PADI certification course taught by a PADI IDC Staff Instructor at BluWave Divers in Orlando, FL. The course is completed in a single day. Class size is limited to 4 students to ensure personalized attention and safety.

- How long does a PADI certification take?
- It depends on the level. Discover Scuba is a single day. Open Water Diver typically takes 3-4 days, including pool sessions, classroom theory, and open water dives. Advanced Open Water can be completed in 2-3 days.
- What is the minimum age for scuba certification?
- PADI Open Water Diver certification requires a minimum age of 10 years old (Junior Open Water). Full Open Water certification is available at age 15+. Discover Scuba experiences are available starting at age 10.
- Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
- You need basic water comfort and the ability to swim 200 meters (or 300 meters with mask, snorkel, and fins) and float or tread water for 10 minutes. These are PADI standards, and your instructor will work with you to build confidence.
- What gear do I need to bring?
- For certification courses, all essential gear is provided — BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins, and tanks. We recommend having your own mask for the best fit. Our gear shop carries hand-picked equipment from Atomic, BARE, and Oceanic if you want to invest in your own.
- Where do the open water dives take place?
- Open water dives are conducted at dive sites across South Florida and the Keys, depending on the course and conditions. Your instructor will coordinate locations that offer the best visibility and marine life for your training level.
